  • Google Pay uses fingerprint, PIN, or pattern lock for security.

8. Transaction History & Security

Google Pay keeps a record of all your transactions, so you can track your spending easily. Here's how to check your transaction history and manage security settings:

(A) Check Transaction History

1. Open Google Pay on your phone.

2. Tap on the "Transactions" or "Activity" section.

3. You will see a list of all past payments, recharges, and money transfers.

4. Tap on any transaction to see more details (date, amount, recipient, status, etc.).

5. If you find an issue, you can report a problem or contact Google Pay support.

(B) Manage Security Settings

To keep your payments safe, follow these steps:

Enable Screen Lock:

  • Go to your phone's Settings > Security > Set up PIN, pattern, or fingerprint lock.
  • Google Pay requires this lock to open the app and make payments.

Use UPI PIN for Payments:

  • Every payment requires your UPI PIN. Never share it with anyone.
  • To change your UPI PIN:

1. Open Google Pay.

2. Tap Profile (top-right corner).

3. Select Bank Account > Choose your bank.

4. Tap "Forgot UPI PIN" and reset it using your ATM card details.

Check & Remove Devices:

  • If you suspect unauthorized access, remove Google Pay from other devices:

1. Open Google Account settings.

2. Go to "Security" > "Your Devices".

3. Sign out from unrecognized devices.

Block Suspicious Users:

  • If someone sends you a fake request or scam message, block them:

1. Open Google Pay.

2. Tap "Transactions" and select the sender.

3. Tap "Block & Report" to prevent future fraud.

9. Dispute Resolution & Refunds

If you face any issues like failed transactions, incorrect payments, or unauthorized charges, you can raise a dispute and request a refund. Here’s how:

(A) If a Transaction Fails but Money is Debited

1. Wait for 24 hours – Sometimes, failed transactions are automatically reversed.

2. If money is not refunded, open Google Pay.

3. Go to "Transactions" or "Activity".

4. Select the failed transaction and check the status.

5. If the status is "Processing", wait for the estimated time given.

6. If the status is "Failed" but money was debited, tap "Report a Problem".

7. Follow the on-screen instructions to file a dispute.

8. Google Pay will process your request, and the bank usually refunds the amount in 3-5 working days.

(B) If You Sent Money to the Wrong Person

1. Contact the recipient and request a refund.

2. If they don’t return the money, go to Google Pay > Transactions.

3. Tap on the payment and select "Help & Feedback".

4. Report the issue and follow the steps to raise a complaint.

Important: Google Pay cannot force a person to refund money if the transaction was completed successfully. Always double-check recipient details before sending money.

(C) If You Receive an Unauthorized Payment Request

1. Do not approve any unknown request.

2. If you get a suspicious request, tap "Decline".

3. Block and report the sender:

o    Go to "Transactions", select the sender, and tap "Block & Report".

3. Choose the relevant issue and follow the steps.

4. You can also chat or call Google Pay support directly from the app.
